Dyfi Bike Park

Country: GB-WLS

Intro

Dyfi Bike Park is one of the UK’s leading uplift-served mountain bike destinations, set in the Dyfi Valley, Mid Wales. Built by riders for riders, it combines world-class trail design with a fast, natural feel—featuring big berms, progressive jump lines, and technical sections that reward precision and commitment.

What sets Dyfi apart is its hands-on approach to trail building. The park has been shaped by Dan Atherton himself, with many trails hand-crafted and continually refined on the ground. It’s not unusual to see him on-site, riding, testing, or tweaking lines—giving the whole place a living, evolving feel that few bike parks can match.

With uplift access maximising time on the bike, Dyfi is all about repetition and progression. Riders can lap trails continuously, refining lines, building speed, and pushing their limits on some of the best-maintained tracks in the UK.

Oh, and one last thing, Dyfi for non-Welsh speakers t is pronounced 'Dovey' as in Lovey with a D. Hence the signature run Lovey Dfyi is pronounced 'Lovey Dovey'.

Rider Tips

  • Uplift – riding is accessed via a fleet of up to 16 Land Rovers with trailers taking between 6 and 8 riders at a time in the back. They are cool things so enjoy the ride up as much as the way down.
  • Book ahead – uplift slots regularly sell out, particularly at weekends and in good weather.
  • Ride what’s running well – trails are actively maintained and sometimes rotated or refined, so check conditions on arrival.
  • Start on Super Swooper – the perfect introduction to Dyfi’s signature style. The locals say even the pros need to warm up at Dyfi before hitting the big runs and this is one of their favourite places to do it.
  • Trust the shaping – berms and features are meticulously built; hesitation often makes sections harder.
  • Watch fast riders – line choice is everything here, and locals often carry speed in ways that aren’t obvious at first glance.
  • Expect progression, not just riding – this is a place to session features and improve technique, not just tick off runs.
  • If you spot Dan Atherton on-site, watch how he rides and reads the trails—there’s a lot to learn.
